2005 Erba Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

93 pts. 24/06/2015 Another sleeper of the vintage, their 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits classic crème de cassis, background oak and earth. The purity, multilayered texture and full-bodied mouthfeel are fresh, deep and intense. This beauty is still young and much less evolved than the Merlot. It is probably not yet at its peak, although it is certainly showing well. This full-bodied, well-endowed Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well for another 15+ years.

94 pts. 30/04/2014 The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon ratchets up the level of richness even more. Beautiful blueberry and creme de cassis fruit intermixed with floral, spice and earth linger in this full-bodied, opulent, impressively endowed Cabernet that sells for a song in the scheme of stratospheric Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon prices. Bravo to Erba! Anticipated maturity: now-2025.

2005 Erba Vineyards Proprietary Red Wine
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

95 pts. 24/06/2015 Richer and more compelling, the 2005 Proprietary Red is the most powerful of the wines (14.9% alcohol compared to 14.7% for the Cabernet Sauvignon and 14.5% for the Merlot). Opaque purple color, with a beautiful nose of forest floor, licorice, crème de cassis and cedar wood, the wine hits the palate with a thunderous richness, but beautiful balance, purity and density. Long on the finish, it goes on for 40+ seconds. This is a stunner and another great sleeper of the vintage from Erba. Approachable now, this wine promises to get even better over the next 5-7 years and can last 25-30.
